Escape to a healing place

The   Golden  Canopy

Hi.  I’m Ivy.

It started early. At three, I was playing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ on the piano then writing songs by seven to receiving a scholarship to Berklee College of Music.

IVY was my Great grandmother’s name on my Mum’s side and my middle name. Symbolism of the plant tends to play a theme in my life. Alex is indeed my last name, probably shortened off a boat back in the day. Paying homage to my folks was precedent in living with my name. My father’s an extraordinary guitarist whom I grew up playing with in talent shows and Southern Rock cover bands. I still get song requests for ‘Hotel California’ and know every note of that guitar solo thanks to hearing him play it over and over and over again.

My journey in music has taken me across the world from Norway to The Caribbean. Florida-born and currently in Nashville, you can find me performing Dueling Pianos as well as Solo Piano Bar residencies from Amsterdam to Santa Barbara while I collect stories and feelings to write on.. catching sparks.

My latest album ‘The Golden Canopy’ is a piano/flute NeoClassical Piano record, capturing feelings of longing, healing, majesty, and peace. Written in Vermont, amongst the changing of Autumn leaves.

Currently, you can find me 6 nights a week at The Red Piano, St. Maarten all of June.

My next original shows are in Nashville July 7th (The Stillery) and July 15th (Chief’s on Broadway).
